English course for teenagers

(At the age of 11 to 16)

                This is an English course which includes 3 levels divided into 10 sublevels. The curriculum is designed for students from 11 to 16 only.

The curriculum for each course is prepared carefully and logically. In the classroom, the learners communicate directly with foreign teachers all the time. Students will learn vocabulary and standard pronunciation, and will have chances to develop their listening and speaking skills through many interesting and communicative activities in classroom. The curriculum aims to develop the skills in the four aspects of learning English (listening, speaking, reading and writing), grammar, structures, vocabulary and pronunciation.

                Within the duration of the course, students learn English through a series of interesting activities such as role plays, discussions and debates, logical thinking development, English worksheet and exercises, pair work, group work, and individual presentation.

Teaching at OCEAN is carried out with the aid of highly technological media such as overhead projector, DVD player, and an audio system which help the students get the gist of the lessons both quickly and effectively and improve the learners’ listening and speaking skills as well.

Courses :

Placement test :

                Before registering, the learners undergo a series of tests: an interview and a paper test which assess the student’s knowledge in vocabulary and grammar. This is done so that OCEAN can evaluate well their current English ability and then place them in the compatible courses.

Teachers and Pedagogy :

                The teachers here are highly-skilled foreign professors who master in English teaching for children. The teaching staffs who are all enthusiastic and active in teaching understand well the need of Vietnamese students to learn the English language. OCEAN guarantees your progress at the end of the course. The teaching staffs at OCEAN use the communicative approach in teaching. This is to create a dynamic English learning environment in the classroom. Children are encouraged to express themselves confidently so their listening, speaking and pronunciation can be developed well.

Assessment :

                There are two tests in each course: a midterm test and a final test. The learners are assessed according to their progress within the duration of the course. Besides this, the learners have chances to try Cambridge University’s tests and can understand well their English usage. Hence, they get acquainted with an official international exam.

Regular Updates with the Parents and Guardians :

                The parents receive a letter issued monthly with the foreign teachers’ comment that is translated into Vietnamese by Vietnamese teaching assistants. Besides, Vietnamese teachers keep in touch with parents to inform them of their children’s evaluation. This assessment report helps parents know clearly about the study and the course output. In turn, OCEAN INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE welcomes suggestions from parents to improve the services of OCEAN to its clienteles.

Certification :

                The students who successfully finish the course shall be granted an English Certificate by OCEAN in the Recognition and Graduation Ceremony at the end of the course.
