I get to meet people from a different culture and I learn a lot from them even as a teacher. It is interesting though to find Vietnamese people has a lot in common to where I come from. And so it is not difficult to connect and make friends with them even though communicating could be hard at times. This familiarity has also made my adjustment easier being a foreign teacher. On the other hand, career wise, teaching different age ranges of students can be challenging as I have to use varied teaching strategies. However, more than half of the time, I have wonderful times in my classes, especially with the toddlers. Other than freezing down to my bones during winter, not having a day off at all is something I find very taxing. Though I do not mind working 40 hours per week. 

The staff here in Thai Nguyen are all lovely people. They are always happy to answer my questions, translate for me, or take me to where I need to go. They are always supportive of the teachers' needs. I wish they could all speak English well or I could speak Vietnamese so we could have lengthy conversation about anything! Our manager one of the most lighthearted people I know.
